WINTER AND SUMMER WOMANSPIRIT CONFERENCES
SCHOLARSHIP POLICY

In the spirit of offering our programs to as many women as possible, the Women & Religion committee of the UUA Central Midwest District has established this statement regarding financial scholarships:

Those women who are able to donate to the scholarship fund are encouraged to do so at the level with which they feel comfortable. Those women at a point in their lives where desire is sincere, but resources are scarce, are encouraged to apply for these monies. To be considered for a scholarship, an applicant must send both the completed registration form and a letter requesting scholarship money to the W&R Scholarship chair, whose name and address appear in the registration brochure and on the website. Complete requests, including both registration and request letter, will be accepted for consideration in the order they are received. The deadline is the same as early bird cut-off for general registration.

Preference is given to first time applicants. More than one scholarship may be granted to one family, i.e., a mother and her daughter, depending on funds available.

The Women & Religion Committee maintains the scholarship fund, and administers the winter conference scholarship separately from the summer conference scholarship. Donations included with regular registrations for any conference will be applied to the fund for that particular conference. As many awards as possible will be given at each conference, with only a small amount carried over to maintain the fund. The Scholarship chair will work with the Treasurer and Committee chair, especially when questions arise regarding qualifications. It is the intention of Women & Religion to be as generous and fair as possible; we are Sisters on a Journey.

Scholarships for CMwD Women and Religion Conferences are supported through the generous donations of the CMwD W&R Committee, contributions from women who attend the conferences, the Annual Ronora Silent Auction, and all the proceeds of the W&R Store.
Thank you!
