Food Coordinator

 Brief Job Description:
The Food Coordinator arranges for snacks, drinks and meals throughout the retreat and organizes kitchen staffing.

Specific Responsibilities:

Arrange for snacks and refreshments throughout the retreat. Research and recommend a caterer and menu for Saturday lunch (and possibly Saturday dinner). Compile area restaurant information if attendees are asked to go out for Saturday dinner. Plan and coordinate seating and flow of traffic for all sit-down meals. Coordinate kitchen staffing, setup and cleanup for food and drinks.

Major Tasks:

  • Research and recommend a caterer and menu(s) and serve as liaison to caterer
  • Determine what church equipment and supplies can be used and how to use them (i.e. coffee pots, dishwasher, flatware, china, etc.)
  • Coordinate with Registrar to accommodate specific food requirements
  • Coordinate with site for setup of tables and chairs as needed
  • Coordinate with W&R Treasurer for caterer deposit and final payment
  • Coordinate with Ambiance on colors and table decorations
  • Arrange for table coverings, napkins, plates, cups, flatware
  • Arrange for beverages to be available throughout the retreat
  • Arrange for snacks for Friday night, Saturday morning and afternoon
  • Arrange for appropriate signage for serving area, recycling and trash
  • Research and compile area restaurant recommendations for Saturday night (as needed)
  • Recruit and coordinate kitchen staff for entire retreat including setup and cleanup
  • Make arrangements for leftovers
